Ohio Agriculture : A Profile
This brochure highlights some of the significant facts about Ohio’s agricultural industry. Efforts to establish facts about U.S. agriculture trace back to colonial days. Even George Washington undertook significant efforts to gather agricultural data. The first Crop Report was published in 1863, just one year after formation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Data in this brochure came from published reports of the Census of Agriculture, the Economic Research Service, and the National Agricultural Statistics Service. This brochure is made possible through a cooperative agreement between USDA, and the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Additional information may be obtained by calling the Ohio Field Office (OHFO).
