OIL and gas drilling is on the increase in Ohio. This increase is driven by the increase in price on all sources of energy. As an oil and gas producer plans to drill, deepen, convert, plug back, plug and abandon or reopen a well, a permit must be obtained from the Division of Oil and Gas.
A very important event that must occur prior to an oil and gas company obtaining a permit is that a lease for the oil and gas rights must be obtained from the landowner.
